As an expert of the UN Harmony with Nature Programme Knowledge Network and the Research Coordinator of the Harmony with Nature Study Group under the Center of Studies and Research in International Relations at FACAMP (CERI-FACAMP), I have engaged in advocacy work on the rights of Nature and promoting lifestyles in harmony with Nature.
In the outreach area, I advised the Reconnecting with Mother Nature educational project in 2023, supported by the Youth Action of SDGs program organized by WFUNA. The project was proposed by four students from the CERI-FACAMP Harmony with Nature Study Group and involved approximately 70 children and young people in a non-anthropocentric education and daily practices in harmony with Nature. The students had the opportunity to showcase their project during the 12th Interactive Dialogue of the General Assembly on Harmony with Nature in New York.
In Brazil, I have supported the NGO Mapas (the most influential NGO in Brazil in the draft of municipal laws recognizing the rights of Nature) on different fronts. I coordinated the report segment of the Second Brazilian Forum on the Rights of Nature, also known as the Earth Assembly Brazil, held on 6-7 October 2023 in the city of Ilhéus, Bahia. The Assembly was hosted by Mapas and the National Articulation for the Rights of Nature - Mother Earth.
At the international level, I have facilitated the engagement of the UN Harmony with Nature Programme Knowledge Network in civil society consultations at the United Nations. In 2024, I supported institutions of the Network to submit written inputs about the rights of Nature to the draft of the Pact of the Future. I also supported the Network with the administrative process of requesting special accreditation to attend the Summit of the Future at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Through my research work in the Global Governance Forum "Second United Nations Charter – Modernizing the UN for a New Generation", I have supported the UN Charter Reform Coalition, launched in May 2024 to mobilize international efforts to call for a general conference to review the UN Charter.
On Linkedin, I published an article making the case for the UN Charter Reform focusing on ECOSOC and contributed with a feature in the Coalition’s social media.
UN reform is not a matter of working methods or rules of procedure: We need to address the heart and essence of this organization, which is the UN Charter. In this sense, the Second United Nations Charter and the UN Charter Reform Coalition have chosen a much-needed approach, which is creating an open dialogue and conversation. It is an invitation to engage the entire global community to bring their views and perspectives to this foundational document.
My approach to these initiatives is to contribute with research and advocacy that embrace diversity as a way to reinforce collective goals and common values as the foundation of a new generation. I propose a UN focused on complementarity of capacities and peer learning, drawing from the perspective of groups and communities that have been excluded from the global dialogue, such as women, youth and indigenous peoples.
